Free from Yesterday
Thinking about the past, and I know I don’t belong there. I wouldn’t trade where I am now for a year ago today. I wouldn’t replace all that these six months have taught me, have allowed me to experience, for the comfort of yesterday. For the comfort of where I was.
I was told to come up for air. Not all of us do. But I did. I feel awake, and I feel free.
I don’t belong where I used to be. Maybe you do. But that’s not for me.
